Stop Telling Me To Use AI.

As someone whose moral compass refuses to waver, the ethics behind the use of Artificial Intelligence does not sit well with me. The environmental impacts of training AI is too drastic for me to “close one eye” about it. While I have dabbled in it a little in the past with ChatGPT and Midjourney, I understand why people are drawn to them. However, after learning how much power is required for a single prompt, I was turned off by it completely.

The convenience of AI is not worth the destruction of the Earth. Just because I understand its usefulness does not mean I am obligated to use it, especially as a Communication Designer. In fact, my interest in Human Experience Design means that I should not be using Artificial Intelligence. AI can’t understand the nuance of human emotions and behaviours.

Unfortunately my stance on AI makes it really hard to find a job. I do not want to go against my moral ethics for Capitalism. This is my way of resistance. If a company/employer cannot respect it, then it is not a job for me. The world is dying, and I want no part in killing it.
